The coffee cup seen during the victory feast was from
Khaleesi Khafee, Emilia Clarke’s coffee startup. She placed it on the table
when no one was looking for free advertising. She was irate when Starbucks got
all the press.
The script originally called for Missandei’s last words
to be “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss
realized that that would have been an anachronism because the show takes place
in the 13th century and rewrote the line.
During filming, actor Jerome Flynn, who portrays Bronn,
accidentally shot Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who portrays Jaime Lannister, with a
crossbow, seriously injuring him. Coster-Waldau had to be replaced by his twin
brother, Gargamel Coster-Waldau, for his remaining scenes in the episode.
Kristofer Hivju, who plays Tormund Giantsbane, is
allergic to wine so his horn-cup was filled with peppermint schnapps during the
victory feast scene.
As originally scripted, Podrick Payne was not supposed
to hook up with two women at the victory feast, but actor Daniel Portman was
filmed leaving the set with two extras, and director David Nutter decided to
keep it in.
